A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to certain rights of owners of outdoor advertising. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 216.003, Local Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding subsection (g) to read as follows: |
|
|
(g) A municipality may not allow an off-premise sign that has been |
|
|
granted an exception from a city ordinance or state law to be |
|
|
rebuilt or replaced by anyone other than its owner or the owner |
|
|
acting through its contractors. |
|
|
SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
