A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to sources of revenue for the Texas rail relocation and |
|
|
improvement fund. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 201.975, Transportation Code, is amended |
|
|
to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 201.975. SOURCES OF REVENUE; DEDICATION OF REVENUE TO |
|
|
FUND. (a) The fund consists of: |
|
|
(1) revenue dedicated or appropriated to the fund |
|
|
pursuant to Section 49-o(d), Article III, Texas Constitution; and |
|
|
(2) revenue from any other available source, including |
|
|
gifts and grants received for the purposes of rail relocation and |
|
|
improvement. |
|
|
(b) Annually, the revenue of the state that is dedicated or |
|
|
appropriated to the fund pursuant to Section 49-o(d), Article III, |
|
|
Texas Constitution, shall be deposited in [to] the fund in |
|
|
accordance with Section 49-o(e), Article III, Texas Constitution. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
