A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to exempting local registrars and county clerks from |
|
|
certain bureau of vital statistics fees. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 191.0046, Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: |
|
|
(e) The bureau of vital statistics may not charge a fee to a |
|
|
local registrar or county clerk who accesses the vital statistics |
|
|
Remote Birth Access site as necessary to issue a certificate that |
|
|
is: |
|
|
(1) necessary to provide services for the benefit of a |
|
|
minor being served by the juvenile justice system; or |
|
|
(2) required by a county department or county funded |
|
|
agency in providing services in response to a court order. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
