A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to video equipment on a motor vehicle. |
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
SECTION 1. Section 547.611(a), Transportation Code, is |
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
(a) A motor vehicle may be equipped with video receiving |
|
equipment, including a television, a digital video disc player, a |
|
videocassette player, or similar equipment, only if the equipment |
|
is located so that the video display is not visible from the |
|
operator's seat unless the vehicle's transmission is in park or the |
|
vehicle's parking brake is applied. |
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
