A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to requiring certain businesses to maintain certain |
|
|
security measures. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Chapter 35, Title 4, Business & Commerce code, is |
|
|
amended by adding new section, 35.126, to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 35.126(a). SECURITY REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN |
|
|
BUSINESSES IN TEXAS. A company that is doing business in the retail |
|
|
sector and employing five hundred employees in Texas, but only |
|
|
utilizing one employee at a time, must either utilize one or both of |
|
|
the following security devices: |
|
|
(1) a closed circuit video system that records the video to |
|
|
a data storage device and has cameras posted at each exit and each |
|
|
entrance door; |
|
|
(2) a personal security device worn around the neck of each |
|
|
employee that allows the employee to sound an alarm in emergent |
|
|
situations. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2007. |
