HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Whitney Wofford of Lubbock won the 16-and-under |
|
|
"B"-draw championship at the Bryan-College Station Super |
|
|
Championship Major Zone (SCMZ) Tennis Tournament held November 17 |
|
|
through November 20, 2006; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, After besting her opponents in four consecutive |
|
|
matches, Ms. Wofford faced off against Taylor Schreimann of Dallas |
|
|
in the finals; she claimed her title with a commanding two-set |
|
|
victory, winning the first set six games to one and the second six |
|
|
games to zero; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A student at Coronado High School in Lubbock and a |
|
|
member of the Mustang tennis team, Ms. Wofford is emerging as a top |
|
|
player, and her victory in the Bryan-College Station tournament |
|
|
represents a significant achievement in her quest for athletic |
|
|
excellence; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
|
hereby congratulate Whitney Wofford for winning the 16-and-under |
|
|
"B"-draw championship at the Bryan-College Station SCMZ Tennis |
|
|
Tournament and extend to her best wishes for continued success; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Wofford as an expression of high regard from the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives and Senate. |
