CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced
  by a great and enduring love, Thomas and Louise Hagood of Paris are
  celebrating their 65th wedding anniversary on February 3, 2007; and
         WHEREAS, Paris native Thomas Hagood met his future bride, the
  former Louise Wimberly of Houston, while he attended Texas A&M
  University and she was a Texas Woman's University student;
  following a whirlwind courtship, the couple married in Las Vegas,
  Nevada, on February 3, 1942, and have nurtured a close and
  fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the
  addition of three daughters, six grandchildren, and six
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A Paul Harris Fellow, Mr. Hagood belongs to the
  Rotary Club of Paris, and Mrs. Hagood is a member of The King's
  Daughters; the pair have been members of the community of faith at
  Central Presbyterian Church for 60 years; and
         WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world
  over the past 65 years, this devoted husband and wife have taken
  comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the steadfast
  support they provide to one another has allowed them to meet life's
  challenges and opportunities with grace and determination; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby congratulate Thomas and Louise Hagood on their 65th
  anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued happiness
  together; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Hagood as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
