CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The Cotulla High School Cowboys football team |
|
achieved an admirable level of success on the gridiron during the |
|
2006 football season; and |
|
WHEREAS, After charging through the regular season with an |
|
11-2 record, tallying three wins against only one loss in league |
|
competition, the talented Cowboy squad reached the 2A Division I |
|
semifinals, a finish that was a school best; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding season was the result of a total |
|
team effort made by Lorenzo Sauseda, Luis Flores, Ryan Ramirez, Leo |
|
Martinez, G. R. Hoff, Reyberto Garcia, Dusty Hoff, Oscar Niavez, |
|
Reyvick Garcia, Juan Rios, Lionel Rocha, Randy Garcia, Jesse |
|
Alvarado, Frank Torres, Geraldo Olivarez, Larry Smith, Adrian Ceja, |
|
Esteban Rodriguez, Aldo Maldonado, J. J. Gonzalez, Charlie Adams, |
|
Roddy Torres, Rene Garza, Juan Salazar, Carlos Zamora, Trey Avila, |
|
and Ricky Garcia; head coach Marcus Booker ably schooled these |
|
young athletes in the finer points of the game while instilling in |
|
them the values of hard work, dedication, and good sportsmanship; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Demonstrating the talent and commitment to |
|
excellence required to achieve such a winning record, members of |
|
the Cotulla High School football team are a source of tremendous |
|
pride to their school, families, and supporters in the community; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby honor the Cotulla High School Cowboys football team for a |
|
superb 2006 season and extend to the players and head coach Marcus |
|
Booker warmest best wishes for future success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives and Senate. |
