CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, Emma Jean Schulle retired from her position as
  district clerk of Caldwell County in 2006, bringing to a close an
  exceptional career in public service that spanned an impressive 35
  years; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Schulle began working for Caldwell County in
  1971; she was elected to the position of district clerk in 1979, and
  she earned the respect and admiration of countless individuals
  throughout her years of service; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Schulle has given generously of her expertise
  to her professional community as the region leader of the County and
  District Clerks Association of Texas, and as a member of its
  Procedure Manual Committee; she has also been active in the
  Lockhart High School Athletic Booster Club, German-Texan Heritage
  Society, and the community service-based group, the Maxwell Social
  Club; in addition, this Texas Senate-commissioned "Yellow Rose of
  Texas" has served as a Sunday school teacher and secretary of Grace
  Evangelical Lutheran Church, president of her local chapter of
  Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and as
  secretary of the Ebenezer Lutheran Church board; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Schulle has made an important contribution to
  her community as district clerk, and she may indeed reflect with
  pride on her outstanding career; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby congratulate Emma Jean Schulle on her retirement as the
  Caldwell County district clerk and extend to her best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Schulle as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
