       WHEREAS, The Mart High School Panthers football team captured  | 
| 
 
			 | 
the 2006 2A State Championship with an impressive victory over  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Cisco High School; and | 
| 
 
			 | 
       WHEREAS, Head coach and athletic director Rusty Nail led Mart  | 
| 
 
			 | 
to its fourth state football championship, posting a sensational  | 
| 
 
			 | 
15-1 season record; he received vital contributions from assistant  | 
| 
 
			 | 
coaches Max McGeary, Russell Urbantke, Landry Williams, Mark  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Honeycutt, Jay Lyles, Lee Miles, Bruce Brignac, and Jonathan  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Harbour; and | 
| 
 
			 | 
       WHEREAS, Championship team members are Kenny Barrett,  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Grayson Hardin, Nat Hopping, Alton Williams, D'Andre Brooks,  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Brandon Goodnight, Arthur Truitt, Colby Summers, Cameron  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Kinsey-Taylor, Lee McClendon, Damian Davis, Heston Adler, Chris  |

			 | 
Holley, Tim Jones, Mark Reynolds, Kyle Summers, Landon Summers,  |

       WHEREAS, Throughout the long and demanding season, the  |

Panthers were supported by the Mart High School varsity cheerleader  |

			 | 
squad, whose members include Haley Adair, Danielle Bryant, Lisha  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Crawford, Shelby Thompson, Devin Watlington, Kelsi Wetzel, Emily  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Witt, and Shannon Zweifel; cheer sponsor Laurie Schroeder, mascot  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Lindsay Riley, and band director Kim Tribble are also deserving of  | 
| 
 
			 | 
recognition, as are superintendent Len Williams and principal Todd  | 
| 
 
			 | 
Gooden, who have helped to create an environment conducive to  | 
| 
 
			 | 
success at Mart High School; and | 
| 
 
			 | 
       WHEREAS, Winning a state championship is the dream of every  | 
| 
 
			 | 
high school athlete, and the memory of this victory will stay with  | 
| 
 
			 | 
the team, its coaches, and its supporters for years to come; now,  | 
| 
 
			 | 
therefore, be it | 
| 
 
			 | 
       RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas  | 
| 
 
			 | 
hereby recognize the Mart High School Panthers football team for  | 
| 
 
			 | 
winning the 2006 2A State Championship and extend best wishes to the  | 
| 
 
			 | 
many individuals who contributed to this notable achievement; and,  | 
| 
 
			 | 
be it further | 
| 
 
			 | 
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be  |

prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas  |
