HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately convey the deep sorrow felt
  at the tragic death of Zane Daniel Newsom of Paris, who passed away
  on March 10, 2007, at the age of 14; and
         WHEREAS, Born on June 15, 1992, in Sulphur Springs, Zane
  Newsom was a freshman at Roxton High School, where he participated
  in FFA and was a promising baseball player and rodeo athlete;
  moreover, he attended the Cowboy Church and was a valued member of
  its ranch rodeo team; and
         WHEREAS, A friend to everyone he met, this fine young Texan
  impressed others with his exuberance, kindness, and generosity;
  although his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will
  forever light the hearts of all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Zane Daniel Newsom and extend
  sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his parents, Greg
  and Amy Newsom; to his brothers, Lane and Dillon Newsom; to his
  grandparents, Wanda Smith, Jimmy and Renee Newsom, and Kathy and
  Dwayne Ballard; to his great-grandparents, Mamie Newsom and Louise
  and Jewel Cope; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
  Zane Daniel Newsom.
