CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, Madison Hope Nation of Paris, whose bright smile
  touched the hearts of countless people, passed away on March 13,
  2007, at the age of five; and
         WHEREAS, Born a twin on June 27, 2001, to Randy and Diane
  Nation, Maddie was faced with numerous obstacles that would
  challenge her journey, though they could not diminish her spirit;
  she was a beloved student at ABC Learning Center, and she enjoyed
  attending Mother's Day Out, speech therapy classes, and Calvary
  United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Cherub Choir;
  moreover, she was a budding ballerina at Ms. DeeDee Gifford's Paris
  Academy of Dance and a member of the Cubs T-ball team; and
         WHEREAS, Maddie could often be found donning elaborate
  dress-up outfits and playing with her dolls, and she never tired of
  assuming the role of princess; other favorite pastimes included
  swimming, playing golf with her pink golf ball, and spending the
  night with her Memaw and her Grandma; and
         WHEREAS, Adored by those who were privileged to share in her
  time on this earth, this precious little girl won the affection of
  many with her sweet and winning ways; though her life ended far too
  soon, she leaves behind an enduring legacy of love that will never
  be forgotten; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Madison Hope Nation and extend
  sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her parents, Randy
  and Diane Sledd Nation; to her twin brother, Zachary Nation; to her
  other siblings, Chase and Jessica Nation; to her grandmother,
  EuVonna Sledd; to her grandparents, N. B. and Pat Nation; to her
  aunts and uncles, Rick and Jan Nation and Derald and Monica Sledd;
  to her great-grandmothers, Rozena Looney and Marjorie Sledd; to her
  cousins, Amanda, Laura, and Sarah; and to her other relatives and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
  Madison Hope Nation.
