H.C.R. No. 183
 
 
 
HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, Continuing a remarkable tradition of excellence,
  Sulphur Springs Middle School earned its 15th consecutive district
  championship title at the 2007 Academic University Interscholastic
  League (UIL) competition; and
         WHEREAS, Composed of bright sixth, seventh, and eighth
  graders, the school's team earned 732.3 points to best its closest
  competition by more than 275 points; contributing tremendously to
  this victory were 15 first place wins and 15 second place wins in
  topics that include calculator applications, dictionary skills,
  listening skills, maps, graphs, and charts, mathematics, number
  sense, oral reading, ready writing, social studies, and spelling;
  and
         WHEREAS, Under the expert guidance of their coaches, these
  outstanding students have demonstrated tremendous dedication and
  perseverance in reaching this goal, and they may take great pride in
  their accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby congratulate the members of the Sulphur Springs Middle
  School Academic UIL team on their district win and extend to them
  best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives and Senate.
