H.C.R. No. 196
 
HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
       WHEREAS, Those young Texans who dedicate themselves to the
pursuit of excellence in academic achievement are richly deserving
of our admiration and respect; and
       WHEREAS, The participants in the La Marque High School
Distinguished Graduates program have established themselves as
scholars of exceptional ability, and we join their families and
friends in saluting their accomplishment; and
       WHEREAS, By meeting the rigorous requirements of the Texas
Education Agency Distinguished Achievement High School program,
these talented students have demonstrated both impressive ability
and steadfast determination in setting and achieving challenging
goals; and
       WHEREAS, The future of Texas and America lies in the hands of
these leaders of tomorrow, and their unstinting efforts to receive
the best education possible indeed bodes well for our state and
nation; now, therefore, be it
       RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas
hereby congratulate the Distinguished Graduates of La Marque High
School and extend to them sincere best wishes for success and
happiness in all their future endeavors; and, be it further
       RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives and Senate.
