CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Teresa Terry of Pflugerville, beloved wife, friend, |
|
|
and teacher, passed away on April 25, 2007, at the age of 40, and |
|
|
memories of her generous spirit and her zest for life remain to |
|
|
comfort all those whose lives she touched; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A dedicated elementary school teacher, Ms. Terry |
|
|
taught kindergarten in the Austin, Round Rock, and Wichita Falls |
|
|
school districts and most recently worked with first-graders at |
|
|
Wells Branch Elementary School, where she was named the 2005-2006 |
|
|
Teacher of the Year; respected and admired by her colleagues, she |
|
|
believed wholeheartedly in the ability of her students and brought |
|
|
out the best in them with her thoughtful guidance and caring ways; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Terry was also a talented artist and avid |
|
|
photographer who enjoyed taking pictures of her beloved pets and |
|
|
often invited her friends to sit for family portraits; moreover, |
|
|
she took great pleasure in collecting children's books and over the |
|
|
years amassed more than a thousand titles; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In 1990, she married Michael Terry, with whom she |
|
|
had been friends since their teenage years, and the couple shared a |
|
|
close and loving bond; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Although her journey on this earth ended far too |
|
|
soon, Teresa Terry enriched the lives of countless people with her |
|
|
warmth, devotion, and enthusiasm, and she will long be remembered |
|
|
by all those who were privileged to share in her love and |
|
|
friendship; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of Teresa Terry and extend sincere |
|
|
sympathy to the members of her family: to her husband, Mike Terry; |
|
|
to her parents, Patricia and Raymond R. Youngblood and Lynn |
|
|
Youngblood; to her brothers, Bryan Youngblood and Dan Clarke; to |
|
|
her brothers-in-law, Rich Terry and his wife, Eloise, and David |
|
|
Terry and his wife, Karen; and to her other relatives and many |
|
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
|
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
|
|
Teresa Terry. |
