CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
         WHEREAS, There are no words that can diminish the pain caused
  by a young life cut short, but all those who shared in the love and
  friendship of Heidi Lynn Fender treasure their memories of this
  special young woman, who died on December 5, 2004; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Mount Pleasant on August 5, 1987, Heidi
  Fender attended Mount Pleasant High School, and during her years as
  a student, she excelled in academic and extracurricular activities;
  inducted into the National Technical Honor Society and included in
  Who's Who Among American High School Students, she further
  distinguished herself as a talented member of the Elite Cheer Team,
  which she helped lead to victory at the national championships; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Fender was a member of Tennison Memorial United
  Methodist Church, and in all her endeavors, she was known for her
  bright personality, her loving nature, and her efforts to help
  others; and
         WHEREAS, She was cherished  by many, including her parents,
  Richard and Alynda Fender; her brothers, Chris and Michael Fender;
  her sister, Stephania Larson and her husband, Ken; her
  grandparents, Marguerite Fender and Carolyn and Allen Bills; her
  great-grandmother, Elizabeth Bills; her aunts and uncles, Candy and
  Andy Turlington, Ronald and Lynn Fender Smith, and LaRon and Barbie
  Bills; and her niece and nephew, Danielle Larson and Troy Privett;
  and
         WHEREAS, Although Ms. Fender's time on this earth was far too
  brief, she brought great joy into the lives of her loved ones, and
  they will forever carry her close in their hearts; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas
  hereby pay tribute to the life of Heidi Lynn Fender; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of
  Heidi Lynn Fender.
