CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of Calvin Dudley of Paris on April 22, |
|
2007, at the age of 91, deeply saddened the family and friends of |
|
this esteemed Texan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born to Charlie and Versia Morgan Dudley in Lamar |
|
County on February 18, 1916, Mr. Dudley was a respected member of |
|
his community and a valued congregant of Palestine Baptist Church; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Calvin Dudley was formerly married to Oleta Dudley, |
|
with whom he had seven treasured children; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although his death has brought sorrow to his loved |
|
ones, Mr. Dudley leaves a substantial legacy of good works and |
|
constructive endeavor, and he will be remembered with great |
|
affection by all who were blessed to share in the richness of his |
|
life; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the 80th Legislature of the State of Texas |
|
hereby pay tribute to the life of Calvin Dudley and extend sincere |
|
sympathy to the members of his family: to his sons, Morgan Dudley |
|
and his wife, Linda, and Roddy Dudley and his wife, Mickie; to his |
|
daughters, Ineta Loud, Pauline Franklin, Zenetta Fulbright and her |
|
husband, Charles, Robbie Powell, and Vanessa Soso and her husband, |
|
Bernardino; to his brothers, Charlie Dudley, Jr., Sam Wesley Dudley |
|
and his wife, Gloria, Jimmy Dudley and his wife, Barbara, Billy J. |
|
Dudley, Ivory Dillard, Menzo Dillard and his wife, Atha, Roosevelt |
|
Dillard, and Curlest Dillard; to his sisters, Helen Dudley, Ruby |
|
Lee Williams, Maggie Washington, Ada Bills and her husband, Robert, |
|
and Thelma Dangerfield and her husband, Raymond; to his 16 |
|
grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and two |
|
great-great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives and Senate adjourn this day, they do so in memory of |
|
Calvin Dudley. |
