R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Bobby Haden Bain of Highland Village
  on June 9, 2006, has saddened the family and many friends of this
  esteemed Texan, and all who were blessed to share in his love and
  friendship may long reflect on Mr. Bain's great impact on their
  lives; and
         WHEREAS, Anytime a Texan of Mr. Bain's influence and stature
  passes away, it deeply affects many people; through his work ethic,
  professional achievement, and commitment to caring for those he
  loved, Mr. Bain served as a role model to his family and fellow
  citizens; in addition, he possessed a charismatic personality and
  compassionate heart that brightened the lives and lifted the
  spirits of a host of kith and kin and that endeared him to countless
  individuals; and
         WHEREAS, Born on June 25, 1933, in Longview, Mr. Bain
  graduated from Longview High School in 1949; he continued his
  studies by attending Draughn Business College in Dallas, and in
  later years he earned his bachelor of business administration
  degree from North Texas State University; from 1953 to 1954, he
  served his country with distinction and valor in the U.S. Army; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Bain spent five years with Southwestern Bell and
  worked for 12 years as a sales representative for Beacon Blankets;
  he was then employed for 21 years with the H&S Company, from which
  he retired as vice president in 1995; during retirement, he
  continued to share his experience and knowledge with others by
  working part-time as a sales associate for Jostens Rings; and
         WHEREAS, A cherished friend to many, Mr. Bain was a
  consummate host and the life of any party; he was a devoted Dallas
  Cowboys fan who had held season tickets since the 1960s and who
  consistently attended games to root for his team; in addition, he
  maintained longtime friendships with individuals he met throughout
  his life and regularly participated in reunions held by the
  Longview Lobos and by his army buddies; and
         WHEREAS, This distinguished gentleman was a devoted husband,
  father, grandfather, and great-grandfather; his vitality, warmth,
  and good humor will be profoundly missed, but his family may take
  consolation in the fact that his life was filled with meaningful
  accomplishments and joyous times, and his spirit will remain alive
  in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Bobby Haden Bain and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Carol Bain; to his sister, Betty Whitmire; to his children and their
  spouses, Kym and Tracy Webster, Kyle Bain, Kelly and Richard Ott,
  Jim Shipp, Ricky and Barbara Bell, Randy and Rachel Bell, and Dan
  and Debbie Bell; to his grandchildren, Kyle Bain, Jr., Austin and
  Kelsey Webster, Renee Childers, Brenda Thurman, Monty Shipp,
  Michelle Shipp, and Ryan, Drannon, Derek, and Devin Bell; to his six
  great-grandchildren, Bradley, Preston, Tanner, Avery, Landon, and
  Lamar; to his nieces, Betsy Radney and Cindy Hunsucker; and to his
  other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House
  of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bobby
  Haden Bain.
