R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Aleena Virginia Jimenez, who passed away on November |
|
25, 2006, at the age of five, brought a luminous joy into the lives |
|
of all who loved her, and those who were touched by her presence |
|
give deepest thanks for the wondrous, miraculous gift of this |
|
radiant child; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on October 17, 2001, in San Antonio, Aleena |
|
attended preschool at St. Joseph Catholic School in that city; a |
|
beautiful, sunny little girl, she was full of high spirits and eager |
|
to be a part of everything, and from an early age she entered |
|
enthusiastically into her family's activities and traditions; and |
|
WHEREAS, Her favorite pastimes included shopping with her |
|
mother and fishing with her father; during Cowboy football games, |
|
she and her dad would don matching Dallas jerseys, and she was |
|
already demonstrating a strong competitive spirit of her own; she |
|
also took pride in helping with the time-honored ritual of |
|
decorating the table for Thanksgiving dinner; and |
|
WHEREAS, Pink was her favorite color, and she enjoyed posing |
|
for the camera whenever photographs were being taken; her bright |
|
eyes and smiles, glowing with delight, were an eloquent testament |
|
to the great love that surrounded and nurtured her; and |
|
WHEREAS, Aleena was the granddaughter of the Honorable Frank |
|
Madla, who served for 20 years in the Texas House of Representatives |
|
and 13 years in the Texas Senate; and |
|
WHEREAS, Though Aleena's journey on this earth was far too |
|
brief, she will be held forever in the loving hearts of her family |
|
and friends; through her parents' infinite compassion, the blessing |
|
of her life has also touched children who were seriously ill and who |
|
are able today to face the world with new hope; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Aleena Virginia |
|
Jimenez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: |
|
to her mother, Marci Madla; to her father, Raul Jimenez III; to her |
|
grandparents, Rosemary Jimenez and Helen Madla; to her |
|
great-grandparents, Irma Arranaga, Mary Jimenez, and Epimena |
|
Madla; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family, and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Aleena |
|
Virginia Jimenez. |
