R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A golden wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  love and shared experiences, and Bruce and Jennie Motheral of
  Kerrville celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on
  August 29, 2006; and
         WHEREAS, R. Bruce Motheral and the former Jennie Sue McLellan
  met in 1953 while attending a construction materials convention in
  Austin; they were married in 1956 in a ceremony held at Harris
  Memorial Chapel at the University Methodist Church in the Capital
  City; the parents of three children, Bruce, Jim, and the late Kathy
  Motheral, the pair are the center of a treasured family that today
  includes their daughters-in-law, Linda and Lynne, as well as
  grandchildren Megan, Brandon, and Anna and great-grandson Caden;
  and
         WHEREAS, After earning a bachelor's degree in civil
  engineering from UT, Mr. Motheral joined his father's company,
  Transmix Concrete and Superior Stone Products in Austin, before
  going on to serve as design engineer for the city's water and
  wastewater department and as head of Bovay Engineers, Inc. civil
  engineering department; in 1968, he founded Motheral Industries, an
  engineering and construction firm in Austin, which became an
  engineering and construction management firm when it was relocated
  to Kerrville in 1984; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Motheral devoted 18 years to the students of
  the Georgetown public schools in her role as a substitute teacher;
  since 1978, she has worked alongside her husband in the family
  business; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to their career and family
  responsibilities, Mr. and Mrs. Motheral have been valued members of
  Kerrville's Zion Lutheran Church and have shared their time and
  resources with various boards, clubs, and organizations; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Motheral have enjoyed five decades of
  abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Bruce and Jennie Motheral on their
  50th wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for
  continued happiness together; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Motheral as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
