R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
and shared experiences, and John and Jaye George of Kerrville |
|
observed this joyous milestone in their marriage on October 26, |
|
2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. George were joined in matrimony in |
|
1956, at the First Baptist Church of Canyon; through the years, they |
|
have been blessed with a treasured family that includes Scott, |
|
Hunter,Rusty, Paula, Shelby, and Nick George, and Jennie, Scott, |
|
Katie, and Emilie Strozier; and |
|
WHEREAS, Now retired, Mrs. George attended West Texas State |
|
University and Texas Tech University's School of Business for |
|
Savings and Loans; Dr. George directs the Knipling-Bushland U.S. |
|
Livestock Insects Research Laboratory for the United States |
|
Department of Agriculture; alumnus of West Texas State University, |
|
he received graduate degrees from Texas Tech University and the |
|
University of Kansas and completed post-doctoral training at the |
|
International Institute of Medicine at the University of Maryland |
|
School of Medicine before working at the Pakistan Medical Research |
|
Institute; and |
|
WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the Georges |
|
have made their home in Kerrville for 27 years and take an active |
|
role in local church and civic organizations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. George have enjoyed five decades of |
|
abiding love and affection for one another and are among an |
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate John and Jaye George on their 50th |
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued |
|
happiness together; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Dr. and Mrs. George as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
