R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love
  and shared experiences, and John and Jaye George of Kerrville
  observed this joyous milestone in their marriage on October 26,
  2006; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. George were joined in matrimony in
  1956, at the First Baptist Church of Canyon; through the years, they
  have been blessed with a treasured family that includes Scott,
  Hunter,Rusty, Paula, Shelby, and Nick George, and Jennie, Scott,
  Katie, and Emilie Strozier; and
         WHEREAS, Now retired, Mrs. George attended West Texas State
  University and Texas Tech University's School of Business for
  Savings and Loans; Dr. George directs the Knipling-Bushland U.S.
  Livestock Insects Research Laboratory for the United States
  Department of Agriculture; alumnus of West Texas State University,
  he received graduate degrees from Texas Tech University and the
  University of Kansas and completed post-doctoral training at the
  International Institute of Medicine at the University of Maryland
  School of Medicine before working at the Pakistan Medical Research
  Institute; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, the Georges
  have made their home in Kerrville for 27 years and take an active
  role in local church and civic organizations; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. and Mrs. George have enjoyed five decades of
  abiding love and affection for one another and are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate John and Jaye George on their 50th
  wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued
  happiness together; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. and Mrs. George as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
