R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Residents of Kerrville lost a beloved neighbor with |
|
the death of Virginia Ann Jakovich Stehling on June 20, 2006; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on February 28, 1950, in Galveston, Mrs. |
|
Stehling was an alumna of Dominican High School and attended |
|
Trinity University in San Antonio; and |
|
WHEREAS, The former Ginger Jakovich exchanged wedding vows |
|
with Carey Stehling on June 20, 1970, in a ceremony held at Sacred |
|
Heart Catholic Church in the bride's hometown, and the couple made |
|
their home in Kerrville; and |
|
WHEREAS, After receiving her real estate broker's license, |
|
Mrs. Stehling worked in sales during the 1970s, though she put her |
|
career on hold when her children were young; in 1991, she |
|
established Ginger Stehling and Associates, Inc., and took an |
|
active role in professional and civic endeavors; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Stehling served the Kerrville Board of Realtors |
|
as president, as well as in various other offices and on committees; |
|
she was presented the board's Gold Key award in 2000 and was named |
|
to its Hall of Fame in 2005; and |
|
WHEREAS, Her civic engagement included membership with the |
|
Kerrville Community Chorus, the Rotary Club of Kerrville, the |
|
Kerrville Junior Service Guild, and the Young Women's Club; she was |
|
a longtime congregant at Notre Dame Catholic Church and |
|
participated in the ACTS Community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her service in behalf of her fellow |
|
citizens, Ginger Stehling made a positive difference in the lives |
|
of others, and she will be remembered with great admiration and |
|
appreciation for her lasting contributions to her community; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Virginia Ann Jakovich |
|
Stehling and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: |
|
to her husband, Carey Stehling; to her daughters, Ashley Stehling |
|
and Kristin Stehling Lynch and her husband, James P. Lynch; to her |
|
brother, Edward Jakovich, Jr., and his wife, Patricia; to her |
|
sister-in-law, Joyce Jakovich; and to her many other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Virginia |
|
Ann Jakovich Stehling. |
