R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The friends and family of U.S. Army Specialist James
  C. Kesinger of Orange Grove suffered an immeasurable loss with the
  death of this valiant young man on December 12, 2005; and
         WHEREAS, Specialist Kesinger was killed while bravely
  serving his country during combat operations in Iraq; and
         WHEREAS, A 1992 graduate of Zapata High School, James
  Kesinger was a well-rounded young man who enjoyed sports, played in
  the band, was active in 4-H, earned his black belt in taekwondo, and
  became one of the first male cheerleaders in the history of his alma
  mater; he joined the Army National Guard after graduation and later
  became a combat medic with the U.S. Army; and
         WHEREAS, Specialist Kesinger was on his second tour of duty
  in Iraq, and despite the dangerous nature of his mission, he
  remained devoted to serving his country; the heroism he
  demonstrated in battle earned him both the Bronze Star Medal and the
  Purple Heart; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. Armed
  Forces, James Kesinger inspired others with his fortitude,
  tenacity, and courage; although his passing leaves a void in the
  lives of those who were fortunate to know him, they will forever
  carry memories of this heroic young Texan close in their hearts;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James C. Kesinger and
  extend sincere sympathy to his family: to his parents, Clifford and
  Deanna Kesinger; to his wife, Janie; to his children; to his
  sisters; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army
  Specialist James C. Kesinger.
