R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Carroll High School Dragons captured their third
  consecutive state and national titles with a thrilling 43-29
  victory over Austin Westlake in the 2006 Class 5A state
  championship game in San Antonio on December 23, 2006; and
         WHEREAS, A true high school football dynasty, the Carroll
  Dragons have enjoyed unparalleled success over the past three
  seasons, posting a perfect 48-0 record; by winning their fourth
  championship in the past five years, the Dragons have tied the Texas
  high school record with seven state football titles; and
         WHEREAS, Led by head coach Todd Dodge, the team has also set a
  state record by competing in five consecutive Class 5A state
  championship games; moreover, the Dragons have suffered just one
  defeat in the past five seasons, posting an incredible 79-1 record
  during that span; and
         WHEREAS, Members of the 2006 Carroll Dragons varsity football
  team are Brad Klosterman, Kyle Padron, Anthony Ford, Ross
  Stripling, Carter Murphey, Bryce Saldi, Cole Wicklund, Ford Renfro,
  Jack Peterson, Josh Rake, Blake Cantu, Blake Tomlin, Mitchell
  Osborne, Jared Freeman, Riley Dodge, Jeremy Gray, Jarik Jurica,
  Caleb Jameson, Brent Huggins, T. J. Christensen, Jayson Jenkins,

  Braeden Moses, Tom Fleps, Luke Riley, Scott Lopano, Ryan Roper,
  Charlie Clarkson, Ryan Schwend, and Robert Prigmore; and
         WHEREAS, Coach Dodge, who is moving on to become the new head
  football coach at the University of North Texas, was aided in his
  efforts by assistant coaches Ron Mendoza, Robert Drake, Todd Ford,
  Dave Fuller, Tony Holmes, Larry Hughes, Aaron Lineweaver, Paul
  Pinson, Kirk Rogers, Doug Stephens, and Jeremy Trojacek; the team
  also benefited from the support of the school's principal, Dr.
  Daniel Presley, athletic director Ronnie Tipps, administrative
  assistant Beth Moore, athletic trainers Derek Abell, Jana Peters,
  and Kody Truebenbach, and team manager James Cheatwood; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
  culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
  commitment to teamwork, and the student-athletes of the Carroll
  High School Dragons football team will carry the memory of this
  accomplishment with them for many years to come; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Todd Dodge and the Carroll
  Dragons on winning the 2006 Class 5A state football championship
  and recognize January 23, 2007, as Carroll Dragons Day at the State
  Capitol in honor of this exciting achievement; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team, Coach Dodge, and his staff as an expression
  of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
