R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments may comfort the family and friends of
  Nancy Francis McMinn of Houston, who passed away on January 9, 2007;
  and
         WHEREAS, Born on August 11, 1930, in Austin, the former Nancy
  Francis graduated from Austin High School in 1948 and went on to
  attend Ward-Belmont College in Nashville, where she met William A.
  McMinn, Jr., a student at Vanderbilt University; the couple were
  married on August 30, 1951, and shared a loving union that spanned
  55 years; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. McMinn was a devoted wife and mother who took
  great pride in providing a nurturing home for her family; blessed
  with four children, she was also a beloved grandmother and
  great-grandmother; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to building a rich homelife, this caring
  woman gave generously of her time to benefit others, and through the
  years she shared countless hours as a dedicated volunteer and
  supporter of The Brookwood Community in Brookshire; and
         WHEREAS, A woman of grace and compassion, Nancy McMinn made a
  positive difference in the lives of many, and though she will be
  deeply missed, she leaves behind a legacy to treasure for those who
  held her dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the life of Nancy Francis McMinn and
  extend deepest sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  husband, William A. McMinn, Jr.; to her children, William A. McMinn
  III and his wife, Marie, Mary M. Ogden, Nancy M. Beasley and her
  husband, Stephen, and Patricia C. McMinn; to her grandchildren,
  Michael McMinn, Christina Snyder, Tommy Ogden, and Brad and Kate
  Beasley; to her great-granddaughter, Sophia Snyder; to her sisters,
  Patricia Hodges and JoAnn Ballentine and her husband, Bunk; and to
  her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Nancy
  Francis McMinn.
