R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Association of Homes and
  Services for the Aging are visiting the Capitol today to celebrate
  the quality of care provided to our aging population through
  faith-based and community-based organizations in Texas; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Homes and Services for the
  Aging members include professionals, volunteers, nurses, and other
  long-term care professionals from nonprofit organizations across
  the state; and
         WHEREAS, Some 30,000 Texas seniors receive services from
  nonprofit organizations in their homes, senior housing facilities,
  retirement communities, assisted living, and nursing homes and
  through other community programs; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Homes and Services for the
  Aging members have, as their primary mission, a dedication to
  improving care and sustaining the highest quality of life possible
  for our state's aging population; this goal becomes increasingly
  important as the baby boom generation approaches retirement age;
  and
         WHEREAS, Nonprofit organizations that provide care for our
  seniors continue to lead the state in quality of care, and their
  provision of such essential services merits widespread gratitude;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize January 29, 2007, as Texas Association
  of Homes and Services for the Aging Day at the Capitol and extend to
  the delegation present on this day best wishes for an enjoyable and
  memorable visit.
