R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the Texas Association of Homes and |
|
Services for the Aging are visiting the Capitol today to celebrate |
|
the quality of care provided to our aging population through |
|
faith-based and community-based organizations in Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Homes and Services for the |
|
Aging members include professionals, volunteers, nurses, and other |
|
long-term care professionals from nonprofit organizations across |
|
the state; and |
|
WHEREAS, Some 30,000 Texas seniors receive services from |
|
nonprofit organizations in their homes, senior housing facilities, |
|
retirement communities, assisted living, and nursing homes and |
|
through other community programs; and |
|
WHEREAS, The Texas Association of Homes and Services for the |
|
Aging members have, as their primary mission, a dedication to |
|
improving care and sustaining the highest quality of life possible |
|
for our state's aging population; this goal becomes increasingly |
|
important as the baby boom generation approaches retirement age; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Nonprofit organizations that provide care for our |
|
seniors continue to lead the state in quality of care, and their |
|
provision of such essential services merits widespread gratitude; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize January 29, 2007, as Texas Association |
|
of Homes and Services for the Aging Day at the Capitol and extend to |
|
the delegation present on this day best wishes for an enjoyable and |
|
memorable visit. |
