R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The friends and family of U.S. Army Sergeant Paul T. |
|
Sanchez suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of this |
|
valiant soldier on January 14, 2007, at the age of 32; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Sanchez was killed while bravely serving |
|
his country during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq, with the |
|
543rd Military Police Company, 91st Military Police Battalion, 10th |
|
Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division; and |
|
WHEREAS, A former student of Irving High School, Sergeant |
|
Sanchez joined the army in 2000 and his heroic efforts earned him |
|
such honors as the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army |
|
Achievement Medal, and National Defense Service Medal; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sergeant Sanchez was serving his second tour of duty |
|
in Iraq at the time of his death, and despite the dangerous nature |
|
of his mission, he remained devoted to serving his country; and |
|
WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed |
|
forces, Paul Sanchez inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity, |
|
and courage; although his passing leaves a void in the lives of |
|
those who were fortunate to know him, they will forever carry |
|
memories of this heroic Texan close in their hearts; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Paul T. Sanchez and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, |
|
Kym Sanchez; to his daughter, Ashleigh Sanchez; to his son, Adrian |
|
Sanchez; to his mother, Kathy Sanchez; to his father, Paul Sanchez; |
|
to his sister, Tina Sanchez; and to his other relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sergeant |
|
Paul T. Sanchez. |
