R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The friends and family of U.S. Army Sergeant Paul T.
  Sanchez suffered an immeasurable loss with the death of this
  valiant soldier on January 14, 2007, at the age of 32; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Sanchez was killed while bravely serving
  his country during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq, with the
  543rd Military Police Company, 91st Military Police Battalion, 10th
  Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division; and
         WHEREAS, A former student of Irving High School, Sergeant
  Sanchez joined the army in 2000 and his heroic efforts earned him
  such honors as the Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Army
  Achievement Medal, and National Defense Service Medal; and
         WHEREAS, Sergeant Sanchez was serving his second tour of duty
  in Iraq at the time of his death, and despite the dangerous nature
  of his mission, he remained devoted to serving his country; and
         WHEREAS, Exemplifying the highest ideals of the U.S. armed
  forces, Paul Sanchez inspired others with his fortitude, tenacity,
  and courage; although his passing leaves a void in the lives of
  those who were fortunate to know him, they will forever carry
  memories of this heroic Texan close in their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Paul T. Sanchez and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife,
  Kym Sanchez; to his daughter, Ashleigh Sanchez; to his son, Adrian
  Sanchez; to his mother, Kathy Sanchez; to his father, Paul Sanchez;
  to his sister, Tina Sanchez; and to his other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sergeant
  Paul T. Sanchez.
