R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Bobby Delafield on August 10, 2006,
  at the age of 60, has brought profound sadness to his family and
  many members of the Mineola community; and
         WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mr. Delafield was
  born in Jacksonville; he graduated from the Department of Public
  Safety Academy in 1969 and dedicated nearly three decades to the DPS
  in Mineola; at the time of his death, he was serving his fellow
  citizens as a court security officer at the federal courthouse in
  Tyler; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Delafield was devoted to his family; he shared a
  39-year marriage with his wife, Jean, that served as an inspiration
  to others, he nurtured and adored his children, Susan Wylie, the
  late Kevin Delafield, and the late Kyle Delafield, and he doted on
  his precious grandson, Andrew Wylie; and
         WHEREAS, The Broad Street Church of Christ benefited
  immeasurably from Mr. Delafield's active involvement; a member for
  many years, he earned a special place in the hearts of his fellow
  congregants with his affable manner and generous sense of humor;
  and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Bobby Delafield
  will long remember his kindness and his boundless love for his
  family, church, and community; although his time on this earth was
  too brief, his legacy of faith, courage, and integrity will live on
  in all those whose lives he so richly blessed; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life and accomplishments of
  Bobby Delafield and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Jean Delafield; to his daughter, Susan Wylie;
  to his grandson, Andrew Wylie; to his brothers, James P. Delafield
  and Jack Delafield; and to his other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the members of his family and that when the Texas House
  of Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Bobby
  Delafield.
