R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees received |
|
|
first-place honors in the 2006 Digital School Boards Survey from |
|
|
the Center for Digital Education and the National School Boards |
|
|
Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The survey, which examines how school boards and |
|
|
their districts are applying information technology to better |
|
|
engage local communities and constituents, helps to promote |
|
|
improved service delivery and quality of education in our nation's |
|
|
public school systems; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Survey questions focused on the school boards' |
|
|
online presence as well as the development of interactive |
|
|
technology applications for enhanced communication, the existence |
|
|
of electronic access to calendars, policies, and agendas, and the |
|
|
advancement of technology in school board meeting rooms; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees placed first |
|
|
among school districts serving 15,000 or more students, a truly |
|
|
significant accomplishment that demonstrates the board's |
|
|
commitment to embracing new technologies in an effort to better |
|
|
serve its students, parents, and teachers; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees |
|
|
for placing first in the Top 10 ranking on the 2006 Digital School |
|
|
Boards Survey and commend the many individuals who contributed to |
|
|
this noteworthy achievement; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees as an expression of |
|
|
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
