H.R. No. 192
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, David Cole Pullig of Boy Scouts of America Troop No.
  437 has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this accomplishment
  truly merits special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
  honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
  scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
  criteria, Mr. Pullig earned the requisite 21 merit badges and
  successfully completed an Eagle Scout project of benefit to his
  community; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Pullig has been active in numerous school and
  community activities; in addition to his eight years in the Boy
  Scouts, he has played varsity football, served as referee for YMCA
  youth football and soccer contests, and participated on the social
  studies team; notably, his hard work and dedication have earned him
  a congressional nomination to attend the United States Military
  Academy at West Point; and
         WHEREAS, The president and cofounder of Teenage Republican of
  Denton County, Mr. Pullig attended the 2006 Boys State, where he
  was elected committee chairman; he also participated in the 2005
  National Student Leadership in Washington, D.C., and won two essay
  contests; moreover, David Pullig was a valuable volunteer for State
  Representative Tan Parker's election campaign; and
         WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding
  leadership ability throughout his scouting career, winning the
  respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the
  highest rank that scouting offers; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Pullig's dedication to excellence and
  his perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy
  to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with
  pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor David Cole Pullig for earning the rank of
  Eagle Scout and extend to him best wishes for continued success;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Pullig as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
