R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members of the ALERT Cadet program have traveled to |
|
Austin to visit the State Capitol, and it is a pleasure to welcome |
|
them and recognize their organization; and |
|
WHEREAS, The ALERT Cadet program, founded in 1997 as a |
|
companion program of the Air Land Emergency Resource Team, offers |
|
fathers and sons the opportunity to spend time together working on |
|
scripture memory, Bible study and evangelism skills, adventure |
|
skills, practical home-life skills, physical training, character |
|
training, and service projects; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to strengthening the bonds of father-son |
|
relationships, participants in the ALERT Cadet program learn the |
|
values of compassion and community service, and their efforts |
|
undoubtedly have numerous, positive effects on the lives of their |
|
fellow man; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the ALERT Cadets and extend to them best |
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the ALERT Cadets as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
