R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Grand Saline Police Chief Dan Zajac resigned from
  his position after an impressive 15-year tenure with the
  department; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the force in 1992, Chief Zajac was promoted
  to chief in 1997, and he held the position longer than any other
  officer in Grand Saline; he leaves to become bailiff for Van Zandt
  County District Judge Teresa Drum, but he will continue to serve the
  police department through his activities in the "Beat the Heat"
  program; and
         WHEREAS, Chief Zajac has served the citizens of Grand Saline
  with integrity and dedication, earning the lasting respect of
  fellow officers and community residents alike, and it is
  appropriate to recognize him as he embarks on this new, exciting
  chapter in his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Dan Zajac for his service with the Grand
  Saline Police Department and extend to him best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Chief Zajac as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
