R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends were saddened by the passing of |
|
Jesus M. Abarca of Houston on January 14, 2007, at the age of 77, yet |
|
the memory of his full and rewarding life may offer a measure of |
|
comfort in their time of loss; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Mexico, Mr. Abarca immigrated to the |
|
United States in 1951; he was a skilled workman and was employed by |
|
Yellow Cab for many years before he retired; and |
|
WHEREAS, This devoted husband and caring father and |
|
grandfather found great pleasure in reading and music, but his |
|
greatest joy was spending time with his children; and |
|
WHEREAS, Held in the highest regard by all who knew him, Mr. |
|
Abarca built a life that was rich in family and friends, and |
|
although he will be deeply missed, he will always be remembered with |
|
great love and admiration; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jesus M. Abarca and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of |
|
55 years, Elvia Abarca; to his children, Connie Fayner and her |
|
husband, Sheldon, Adriana Castro and her husband, Steve, Jesse |
|
Abarca and his wife, Mary, Elvia Beets and her husband, Doug, Sylvia |
|
Perry and her husband, Erick, Joel Abarca and his wife, Linda, |
|
Zulema Salinas and her husband, Andrew, Gerald Abarca and his wife, |
|
Christy, Jamie Abarca and his wife, Leticia, and Erik Abarca and his |
|
wife, Stella; to his 22 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; |
|
to his brothers, Juan, Francisco, Cirilo, Aurelio, and Dr. Ramon |
|
Abarca; to his sister, Consulo Abarca; and to his other relatives |
|
and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jesus M. |
|
Abarca. |
