R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, United States Army Specialist Jesse Chesser has |
|
rendered valiant service in Iraq as a member of the United States |
|
Army; and |
|
WHEREAS, Specialist Chesser fulfilled a longtime dream when |
|
he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves; only a junior at Pleasanton |
|
High School at the time, he earned his diploma in 2002 and went on |
|
active duty the following year; and |
|
WHEREAS, A member of the 615th Military Police Company based |
|
out of Germany, Specialist Chesser was deployed to Iraq in January |
|
2006; during his tour of duty, he helped to train Iraqi police in |
|
essential patrol tactics; notwithstanding the hazardous nature of |
|
his work, he approached his mission with the utmost dedication and |
|
professionalism; and |
|
WHEREAS, Specialist Chesser is blessed with a loving family; |
|
the son of proud parents Eugene and Sandra Hernandez, he is married |
|
to a fellow Pleasanton High School graduate, Priscilla, and the |
|
couple have a cherished son, Sebastian; and |
|
WHEREAS, Americans owe a profound debt to Specialist Chesser |
|
and to all the country's military personnel, for they are called on |
|
in wartime to bear the heaviest of burdens and to render sacrifice |
|
that is truly beyond measure; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through his unwavering devotion to duty, honor, and |
|
this nation, Specialist Chesser embodies the highest ideals of the |
|
United States armed forces, and it is indeed appropriate to |
|
recognize him and commend him for his service; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor U.S. Army Specialist Jesse Chesser for his |
|
courageous service in Iraq and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Specialist Chesser as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
