R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of U.S. Army Specialist
  Nathaniel A. Aguirre of Carrollton suffered an immeasurable loss
  with the death of this beloved young man on October 22, 2006, at the
  age of 21; and
         WHEREAS, Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry
  Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, based at
  Fort Hood, Specialist Aguirre was mortally wounded while on patrol
  in Baghdad; and
         WHEREAS, Born on December 11, 1984, in San Antonio, Nathan
  Aguirre graduated in 2003 from Creekview High School in Carrollton,
  subsequently fulfilling his long-held dream to serve his country;
  he attended the U.S. Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia,
  before being deployed in December 2005 to Iraq, where he worked as a
  combat medic; and
         WHEREAS, Specialist Aguirre was an avid rock climber and
  worked for a time as an instructor at a climbing gym; a devoted
  member of the Boy Scouts, he was known for his adventurous spirit
  and dedication to success; he planned to one day attend Texas A&M
  University; and
         WHEREAS, Our state and our nation are fortunate to have young
  men and women whose love for their country inspires them to military
  service, yet the tragic death of Specialist Aguirre is a sobering
  reminder of the cost of war; we owe a profound debt to our nation's
  servicemen and servicewomen, whose valiant efforts and enormous
  sacrifices are deserving of their fellow citizens' deepest respect
  and gratitude; and
         WHEREAS, Although the passing of Nathan Aguirre has left a
  void in the lives of his family, friends, and fellow soldiers, they
  will forever carry memories of this heroic young Texan in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of U.S. Army Specialist
  Nathaniel A. Aguirre and extend sincere sympathy to the members of
  his family: to his parents, Louis L. and Mary Laureana Aguirre; to
  his sister, Melissa Aguirre; to his grandparents, Laura Garza
  Brito, Jose Garza, and Hope Gonzalez; and to his other relatives and
  many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army
  Specialist Nathaniel A. Aguirre.
