R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, No words can soften the pain of a young life that |
|
ends too soon, and we join the family and many friends of U.S. Army |
|
Private Valerie Gamboa in mourning the death of this beloved young |
|
woman, who died January 21, 2007, at the age of 19; and |
|
WHEREAS, Stationed in Germany, Private Gamboa served her |
|
country as a member of the 1st Personnel Command; she joined the |
|
military soon after her 2005 graduation from San Antonio's Memorial |
|
High School, where she was a standout student and an accomplished |
|
athlete; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to participating in softball, |
|
basketball, and track, she was a member of the volleyball team all |
|
four years of high school, winning all-district honorable mention |
|
and second team honors; and |
|
WHEREAS, A loving daughter and sister, Valerie Gamboa was |
|
known for her vivacity and good humor; although she will be deeply |
|
missed, her loved ones may take comfort in remembering her at her |
|
happiest, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the |
|
hearts of all who knew her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Valerie Gamboa and |
|
extend deepest sympathy to her relatives and many friends; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of U.S. Army |
|
Private Valerie Gamboa. |
