H.R. No. 274
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kyle A. Nolen of Ennis died on December 21, 2006, at
  the age of 21, while bravely serving his country in Iraq's Al Anbar
  Province; and
         WHEREAS, An Ennis High School graduate, Mr. Nolen leaves
  behind his wife, Cassie, his three-year-old son, Ryan, and his
  infant daughter, Railey; and
         WHEREAS, Deployed to Iraq in August 2006, he had realized his
  longtime dream of joining the service the previous August, two
  years after earning his high school diploma; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Nolen became a Navy medic and was assigned to H
  Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Division, during his tour in
  Iraq; in the field, he regularly placed himself in harm's way in
  order to tend to injured soldiers in need of medical attention; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted family man who enjoyed soccer and fishing,
  Mr. Nolen helped bridge the gap between servicemen and servicewomen
  and civilians by inspiring members of the First Baptist Church of
  Ennis to send care packages to Ellis County residents who are
  serving in the armed forces; and
         WHEREAS, Passionate in the performance of his duties and in
  his desire to help others, Kyle Nolen embodied the qualities of
  selflessness, heroism, and valor, and the loved ones of this fine
  young man will forever carry him close in their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kyle Nolen and extend
  deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Cassie
  Willard Nolen; to his children, Ryan and Railey Nolen; to his
  mother, Frances Nolen, and his father, Michael Nolen; to his
  sisters, Angelica, Tori, and Sarah Nolen and Mikayla Monjaras; to
  his brother, Shea Nolen; and to his other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kyle Nolen.
