R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Kyle A. Nolen of Ennis died on December 21, 2006, at |
|
the age of 21, while bravely serving his country in Iraq's Al Anbar |
|
Province; and |
|
WHEREAS, An Ennis High School graduate, Mr. Nolen leaves |
|
behind his wife, Cassie, his three-year-old son, Ryan, and his |
|
infant daughter, Railey; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deployed to Iraq in August 2006, he had realized his |
|
longtime dream of joining the service the previous August, two |
|
years after earning his high school diploma; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Nolen became a Navy medic and was assigned to H |
|
Company, 3rd Battalion, 4th Marine Division, during his tour in |
|
Iraq; in the field, he regularly placed himself in harm's way in |
|
order to tend to injured soldiers in need of medical attention; and |
|
WHEREAS, A devoted family man who enjoyed soccer and fishing, |
|
Mr. Nolen helped bridge the gap between servicemen and servicewomen |
|
and civilians by inspiring members of the First Baptist Church of |
|
Ennis to send care packages to Ellis County residents who are |
|
serving in the armed forces; and |
|
WHEREAS, Passionate in the performance of his duties and in |
|
his desire to help others, Kyle Nolen embodied the qualities of |
|
selflessness, heroism, and valor, and the loved ones of this fine |
|
young man will forever carry him close in their hearts; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Kyle Nolen and extend |
|
deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, Cassie |
|
Willard Nolen; to his children, Ryan and Railey Nolen; to his |
|
mother, Frances Nolen, and his father, Michael Nolen; to his |
|
sisters, Angelica, Tori, and Sarah Nolen and Mikayla Monjaras; to |
|
his brother, Shea Nolen; and to his other relatives and many |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Kyle Nolen. |
