R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The dollhouse craftsmanship of William Laing has |
|
delighted his friends and neighbors for many years; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of New York, Bill Laing moved to Texas in |
|
1966 and has resided in Kerrville for nearly two decades; drawing on |
|
the rich tradition of miniature craftsmanship, he began making |
|
wooden dollhouses in the early 1980s; of the numerous creations he |
|
has since made, he has sold only one, preferring instead to give |
|
them away to their many admirers; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Laing is supported by his |
|
wife, Laura, and their children, Nancy, Pamela, Janet, and Herbert; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Bill Laing has brightened the lives of countless |
|
people with his charming miniature models, and it is indeed fitting |
|
to recognize this talented gentleman for his admirable skill and |
|
generosity of spirit; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor William Laing for his outstanding |
|
dollhouse craftsmanship and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Laing as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
