R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, After more than 25 years of service, Joe Vasquez of |
|
|
Weslaco is retiring as vice president for human resources at Knapp |
|
|
Medical Center in January 2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, His diverse experience also includes more than a |
|
|
decade of service in the public sector as a commissioner for the |
|
|
Weslaco Housing Authority and the Weslaco City Commission, as well |
|
|
as his role as chairman of Security First Federal Credit Union; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to the success of his South Texas |
|
|
community, Mr. Vasquez has served on the boards of the Weslaco |
|
|
Independent School District and the Weslaco Chamber of Commerce, |
|
|
and he has been an active member of the Weslaco Lions Club and the |
|
|
Weslaco Rotary Club, both of which he has served as president; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Vasquez is a faithful congregant of the First |
|
|
United Methodist Church of Weslaco, where he has shared his time and |
|
|
talents on numerous boards; in all his endeavors, he has enjoyed the |
|
|
love and support of his wife, Ilda Gonzalez Vasquez; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joe Vasquez has made meaningful and lasting |
|
|
contributions to Knapp Medical Center and the city of Weslaco, and |
|
|
it is a pleasure to honor him as he embarks on the next chapter of |
|
|
his life; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Joe Vasquez on his retirement from |
|
|
Knapp Medical Center and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Vasquez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
