R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The family and friends of Anthony Gordon, of
  Houston, who died on January 21, 2007, will long treasure their
  memories of time spent in his company; and
         WHEREAS, Born in the Bayou City on February 5, 1945, Anthony
  Gordon attended vocational school and was eager to begin his
  career; he worked as a professional truck driver from 1984 until
  2007 and was employed with IRI Trucking at the time of his death;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Gordon was a valued congregant of Our Mother of
  Mercy Catholic Church throughout his lifetime, where he
  participated in various ministries; president of the ushers for
  many years, he was a member of the Parish Involvement &
  Communication Committee, supported the Boy Scouts of America troop,
  and was affiliated with the Drexel Society and the TMO; a third
  degree Knights of Columbus member, he was named Man of the Year and
  received the Paul Steiner Award; Mr. Gordon further benefited his
  church through his membership with Our Mother of Perpetual Help
  Council No. 72, Knights of Peter Claver, and Father John Dorsey
  Assembly No. 2, Knights of Peter Claver; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to spending time with his loved ones,
  Mr. Gordon enjoyed barbecuing, gardening, and hunting in his
  leisure time; and
         WHEREAS, A devoted husband and caring father and grandfather,
  Anthony Gordon leaves behind a proud legacy of love and service to
  his family and community, and he will be deeply missed; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Anthony Gordon and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of
  40 years, Bonnie Gordon; to his daughter, Natalie Gordon Martinez
  and her husband, Robert; to his grandchildren, Brooklyn Camille,
  Jude Anthony, and Luke Andrew; to his sisters and their husbands,
  Marie and Joe Labrie, Grace and Leonard Chargois, Elizabeth and
  John Estorge, Rose Mary Jolivet, Norma Gordon, Kathleen Gordon,
  Cecelia and Chris Kane, Julie and Rudy Lyman, and Juanita and Mark
  Foster; to his brothers and their wives, Lonnie Gordon, Jr., and his
  wife, Jean, Michael Gordon, Raymond Gordon, Larry and Karen Gordon,
  Martin and Ann Gordon, and Rudy Gordon; and to his other relatives
  and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Anthony
  Gordon.
