R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Juan Carlos Gonzalez, a junior at Canutillo High |
|
|
School in El Paso, won eighth place in an essay contest sponsored by |
|
|
the National Society of The Colonial Dames of America; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This year's contestants addressed the topic "Which |
|
|
amendment is most important to you and why?"; the sponsors select |
|
|
two winners from Texas and send them to a National Leadership |
|
|
Conference in June in Washington, D.C., for an educational program |
|
|
on citizenship and the federal government; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mentored by English teacher Florence Schetgen, this |
|
|
fine young Texan is a source of tremendous pride to his school, his |
|
|
family, and his friends; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Juan Carlos Gonzalez on winning |
|
|
eighth place in the National Society of The Colonial Dames of |
|
|
America essay contest and extend to him warmest best wishes for |
|
|
continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
