H.R. No. 308

R E S O L U T I O N

WHEREAS, Public education is an endeavor in which all Texans have a stake, and those individuals who devote themselves to the academic development of our state's young people are truly deserving of our utmost respect and admiration; and

WHEREAS, January 2007 is School Board Recognition Month, and this auspicious occasion provides a fitting opportunity to pay tribute to an outstanding school board member who has demonstrated great dedication to the education of youth in the Lone Star State; and

WHEREAS, Arturo Gonzalez, Jr., of the La Joya Independent School District Board of Trustees has played a vital role in helping to create an enriching and rewarding learning environment that is preparing young Texans to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead; and

WHEREAS, Providing for the diverse educational needs of the future leaders of our state and nation is an undertaking of paramount importance, and it is most appropriate to honor this caring public servant who continually strives to accomplish this significant goal; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas Legislature hereby commend Arturo Gonzalez, Jr., of the La Joya Independent School District Board of Trustees for demonstrating a true commitment to the education of the youth of Texas and extend to this distinguished individual sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further

RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be prepared for Arturo Gonzalez, Jr., as an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
