R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Veronica Valenzuela, a sixth-grade teacher at Jose |
|
|
H. Damian Elementary School in El Paso, has deservedly been named |
|
|
the 2007 West Side Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This prestigious award honors educators who inspire |
|
|
a love of learning in their students and possess the necessary |
|
|
abilities to lead and enrich not only their pupils and peers but |
|
|
also their community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Valenzuela was nominated for the award by an |
|
|
inspired student, Adrina Gonzalez, who composed and submitted an |
|
|
essay recognizing the attributes of her exemplary instructor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Setting professional standards to which all in her |
|
|
field may aspire, Ms. Valenzuela has invested her time and talents |
|
|
in developing the Lone Star State's most precious resource, and her |
|
|
love of teaching has opened up countless young minds to the joys of |
|
|
education; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Veronica Valenzuela on her |
|
|
selection as the 2007 West Side Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Valenzuela as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
