R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Current members and alumni of Leadership Southwest
  are visiting the State Capitol on January 17, 2007, to gain further
  insight into the workings of state government; and
         WHEREAS, Established in 1984, this exceptional program
  provides opportunities for participants to increase their
  knowledge of vital public issues and to visit with the leaders who
  are making decisions that affect their communities; and
         WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a
  diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking
  opportunities, and instruction from knowledgeable figures from
  both the public and private sectors; and
         WHEREAS, Included among today's visitors are Leadership
  Southwest board members Kenneth Govan, area manager of TXU Electric
  Delivery, Amanda Hinton, marketing manager for Chick-fil-A,
  Natalie Laster-Munlin, director of sales at Hilton Garden Inn of
  Duncanville, and Steve Smith, corporate secretary for Best
  Southwest Partnership; and
         WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and
  involved citizenry and to develop new leaders, Leadership Southwest
  is helping to create a brighter and more promising future for the
  Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby welcome Leadership Southwest to the State
  Capitol and extend to all its participants sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Leadership Southwest as an expression of high regard
  by the Texas House of Representatives.
