R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 65th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
|
and shared experiences, and Newton and Beth Bond of Greenville |
|
|
observed this joyous milestone in their marriage on February 7, |
|
|
2007; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bond were united in matrimony in 1942, |
|
|
at a ceremony held in Athens, Texas; through the years, they have |
|
|
been blessed with a treasured family that includes three children |
|
|
and their spouses, Paula and Ron Ivey, Ange and Bill Moreland, and |
|
|
Kent and Charlene Bond, as well as six grandchildren and five |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Bond, a World War II veteran, is retired from |
|
|
Southland Corporation Chemical Division, and Mrs. Bond was employed |
|
|
in retail and as a professional seamstress; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Bond have enjoyed 6-1/2 decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among a |
|
|
remarkable group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Newton and Beth Bond on their 65th |
|
|
wedding anniversary and extend to them best wishes for continued |
|
|
happiness together; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Bond as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
