R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Temple resident, beloved father, and former |
|
professional baseball player Harold Guy Fifield passed away on |
|
January 20, 2007, at the age of 89; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in St. Louis, Mr. Fifield attended Westminster |
|
College in Fulton, Missouri, where he met the woman who would become |
|
his wife, Marilyn Edwards; the couple married on February 3, 1940; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Fifield played baseball with the St. Louis |
|
Browns and the Chicago White Sox before serving as a navy |
|
pharmacist's mate during World War II; he worked for |
|
A. S. Aloe/Brunswick Corporation of St. Louis and later sold |
|
diagnostic equipment in the Rocky Mountain region for |
|
Bio-Dynamics/Boehringer Mannheim of Indianapolis; and |
|
WHEREAS, In Temple, Mr. Fifield is remembered as a valued |
|
congregant of Temple Bible Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, The life of Harold Fifield has been an immeasurable |
|
blessing to his family and friends, and the memory of his spirit and |
|
accomplishments will continue to provide joy and comfort to all who |
|
loved him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Harold Guy Fifield |
|
and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
sons, James Guy and Charles Harold Fifield; to his six |
|
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and to his other |
|
relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Harold Guy |
|
Fifield. |
