R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Every Texan is a rightful heir to the rich and |
|
colorful history of the Old West, and those individuals who seek to |
|
foster a greater appreciation of that heritage are deserving of our |
|
praise and admiration; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1999 by John Coleman, the Brazos Bottom |
|
Cowographers is a nonprofit group composed of more than 50 members |
|
who present lively performances that evoke all the rough romance of |
|
the frontier for delighted audiences across the state; and |
|
WHEREAS, This talented troupe's itinerary takes it to |
|
communities throughout Texas, and at every stop spectators are |
|
treated to a live-action spectacle performed on a set resembling a |
|
small town of the Old West; and |
|
WHEREAS, A vivid cast of characters populates the fictional |
|
town of Brazos Bottom, brought to life by the gifted participants |
|
who have dedicated themselves to this unique form of performance |
|
art; and |
|
WHEREAS, Offering both an entertaining and educational |
|
window into yesteryear, the Brazos Bottom Cowographers draw fans |
|
from all walks of life wherever the group's members perform; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the Brazos Bottom Cowographers |
|
entertainment group for its efforts to honor and immortalize the |
|
history of the Old West and extend to its members sincere best |
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the Brazos Bottom Cowographers as an expression of |
|
high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. |
