R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Chilton High School Pirates captured the
  school's second state football title by defeating Windthorst High
  School 20-10 in the 2006 Class A Division II state championship game
  on December 23, 2006; and
         WHEREAS, Playing in Stephenville before an enthusiastic
  crowd of supporters, the Pirates dominated the favored Windthorst
  Trojans with a suffocating defense and a ball-hogging offense that
  scored three touchdowns en route to the team's first state
  championship since 1972; and
         WHEREAS, Head Coach Robert Little, ably assisted by coaches
  Gene Griffin, James Shaw, Kevin Gracie, Jason Phelps, and Tucker
  Donohoe, instilled in the players the importance of teamwork and
  fundamentals, and their efforts were rewarded as the Pirates posted
  an impressive 9-1 regular-season record and a 5-0 playoff streak
  that led to the team's possession of the coveted state crown; and
         WHEREAS, Team members include Steven Foster, Zack McKee, Josh
  Landrum, Demeris Randolph, Javan Landrum, Ethan Brewster, Corey
  Perez, Darvis Brandon, Bryan Childers, Xavier Shaw, Travis Landrum,
  Dominique Waits, Ryan Cobb, Dillion Camp, Roderick London, Andrew
  Poe, Jessie Perez, Victor Flores, Michael Helfer, Malcolm Dudley,
  Joe Mena, Cornelio Barrientos, Jeffrey Henderson, Raul Mora, Ty
  Cobb, Rafael Calzada, Rodney London, Layo Benitez, Issac Butler,
  Andrian Rueda, Gerald Ford, Francisco Andrade, Devante Miliam,
  Brandon Bobo, Keith Walton, Ruben Calzada, and JaMarcus Waits; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a state championship represents the
  culmination of a lifetime of hard work and dedication in the pursuit
  of excellence, and the memory of this achievement will stay with
  these talented young men for many years to come; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Coach Robert Little and the Chilton
  Pirates football team on winning the 2006 Class A Division II state
  football championship and extend best wishes to the many
  individuals who contributed to the team's successful season; and,
  be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
