R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Todd Phillip Levin of
  Houston on September 27, 2006, at the age of 28, has brought a great
  loss to all who were privileged to know this outstanding young
  Texan; and
         WHEREAS, Born on September 5, 1978, at Sheppard Air Force
  Base in Wichita Falls, Todd Levin grew up in Katy, graduating with
  honors in 1997 from Katy High School; an enthusiastic member of his
  high school band, he went on to pursue his passion for music at The
  University of Texas at Austin, where he played saxophone for the
  Longhorn basketball band; his college years were further enriched
  by his membership in Alpha Epsilon Pi, from which he received a
  national award for his management of the local fraternity house;
  and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Levin graduated from UT in 2001, earning a
  bachelor's degree in sociology with minors in business and Spanish,
  and he soon embarked on a career in marketing and management; he
  enjoyed a part-time position on the events staff of the Houston
  Rockets, in addition to a full-time job as a market researcher; a
  zealous Texas sports fan, he was active in a variety of amateur
  sports activities and was committed to physical fitness; and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family, his girlfriend, the late
  Ralynn Healy, and his friends, Mr. Levin was known for his selfless
  support of others; he shared his time and talents with Temple Sinai
  of Houston and the Katy YMCA, and he assisted evacuees of Hurricane
  Katrina; he also volunteered with projects to help provide food and
  clothing for the needy and to support his alma maters; and
         WHEREAS, Todd Levin lived his life with kindness, generosity,
  and dedication, and memories of him will forever be treasured by the
  many people who held him dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 80th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Todd Phillip Levin and
  extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his mother,
  Carol Levin; to his father, Stuart Levin; to his brother, Jason
  Levin and his wife, Stacey; to his niece, Hayley Levin; to his
  grandmother, Shirley Levin; and to his other relatives and many
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Todd
  Phillip Levin.
